Watch Your Mouth!

imageIt was my sister’s first day on the job.  Her boss handed her a package and said “get this out right now, fat ass!”

She was livid.  “What did you call me?  I can’t believe you called me that!  What’s wrong with you?”

He was stunned at her furious reaction.  “”What do you think I said?  All I did was tell you tell you to get this out on Fed Ex, right now.”

“Oh no. I thought you called me Fat Ass.”

  1. Made me laugh, as usual.

My first job was for a government agency, way back in the times when women always started in the steno pool. At that time, all correspondence had a notation at the bottom indicating the initials of the person who dictated the letter, followed by the initials of the person who transcribed it.

Mr. Fred T. (not his real name, but the initials are right) dictated a letter to Ms. Annie S. (again, not the real name, but the initials are right). When the letter was typed up, it showed the dictator/transcriber notation as FAT/ass. (I kid you not). After that, Ms. S. was told to use only her first and last initial – but, of course, back then the gentleman was still allowed to use all three of his initials. We’ve come a long way, baby.
