Joke of the Day

A blonde was waiting for her bus. She was decked out in a tight leather mini skirt with matching tight leather boots and jacket. As the bus rolled up and it became her turn to get on, she became aware that her skirt was too tight to allow her leg to come up to the height of the first step on the bus.

Slightly embarrassed and with a quick smile to the bus driver she reached behind her and unzipped her skirt a little thinking that this would give her enough slack to raise her leg. Again she tried to make the step onto the bus only to discover she still couldn’t!

So, a little more embarrassed she once again reached behind her and unzipped her skirt a little more and for a second time attempted the step and once again, much to her chagrin she could not raise her leg because of the tight skirt.

So, with a coy little smile to the driver she again unzipped the offending skirt to give a little more slack and again was unable to make the step.

About this time a big burly man that was behind her in the line picked her up easily from the waist and placed her lightly on the step of the bus. Well, she went ballistic and turned to the would-be hero screeching at him “How dare you touch me!! I don’t even know who you are!”

At this, the big guy drawled, “Well ma’am normally I would agree with you but after you unzipped my fly three times, I kinda figured that we were friends!”

    • You’re welcome. I’ll have to write up the one where a man showed up wanting to marry Mother not long after Daddy died. He told her he’d always admired the way she’d always waited on Daddy. Didn’t take her long to throw him out.

      • Hey Linda,

lol 😀 he sounds like an incurable romantic, little wonder your mother rejected his advances. Still, one has to admire his honesty and accept the importance it plays in marriage 🙂

I’m a little behind with your posts, so playing catch up and then watching the video of your mother I’d bookmarked from yesterday.

Hoping all is well. Out of curiosity, what time is it where you are?

        Namaste

          • Coffee sounds good…the real McCoy I hope and not the instant variety I hope, right? 🙂

We are about 6 hours ahead of you, give or take a few minutes….at time of replying, it’s 12:47 and the day heading into the afternoon already. Where does the time go these days I wonder! 🙂

Enjoy said brew and waking to another new day.

              • That sounds the perfect start to any day and a delightful way of sharing the waking hour/s 🙂

RN – Registered Nurse? Hmm, I sort of figured you would have had a person-centred occupation of some description 🙂 I’m currently working as an Administrator for a non-profit making, non-customer facing organisation. It’s nothing fancy you understand, a job to pay the bills and keep a roof over my head.

                  • You’re very generous Linda, thank you…are you checking my grammar and spelling as I write – I know how old habits can prevail…I still remember case sizes and order reference numbers from my time in retailing, and that was 20+ years ago lol 🙂

Nursing is a noble profession, as is teaching of course…yet both seem so bogged down with the requirement of excessive hours, volumes of paperwork, record keeping, and the demands of legislative obligation and expectation. My sister is wholeheartedly passionate about her role teaching Special Needs children but loathes the demanding administrative aspect, which severely impacts on the contact time she has with her class. A case of bureaucracy gone mad I think.

What was it about teaching that had you change career path? And why did you opt for nursing…the two seem a little divergent.
