These two photographs look over my shoulder as I settle in to write every day. The first came down to me in a group of old unmarked family photos. I bought the second at an auction because It looked like it needed a home. These two haunted me till I wrote Hard Time Marrying. I hope my story pleases them.
Boy, am I glad that they haunted you that much! You have given me such a wonderful treat, thank you

I think your story is a fine tribute to those photos. I often find that photos, old family or recent newspaper ones, set stories going in my head.

Me too. My husband was recently given an old family album full of wonderful pictures. Sadly, none were identified, but it is a beautiful thing.

You did the photos justice, no doubt! As for the “figure” in (black tee-hee), weeeell, if it inspires another story, then go for it.

It might, but I hope it let’s me work on another project for a while, but sometimes the story takes over my life.

I get that. I had one I had to take a breather from but it’s still in my mind daily.

Thanks, Dave. These guys worked hard to get to theirs. It didn’t just fall in their laps, did it.

Good grief. That first photo is very scary. I’m sure I can see a figure in black just behind the tombstone. 😱

You are right! There’s something hiding behind the tombstone! OMG! That adds sinister to the picture. Look further out into the center of the graveyard and I don’t think that’s a tree nor tomb. I hope this doesn’t rain on your story. But what exactly happened to the person whose grave the family is visiting?
