Our granddog, Croc, has a hard life. In this photo, he is anxiously awaiting the mail carrier. So far, he has a one hundred percent success rate in chasing him off. Please note the crocheted afghan he rests under. Yes, I made it just for him. Mornings are the best for him. Protecting the house from the postal service is a great sacrifice since afterwards he has to sleep on top of his blanket unless someone happens by to cover him.
BEFORE
AFTER
The mail carrier has once again been vanquished, but as you can see, Though he has blankets, poor Croc is uncovered. He has, however, acquired the baby’s favorite doll to comfort him. He covets her snugglies, and given the opportunity, snitches them. This fearsome beast is all that stands between us and the USPS. Of course, he is not allowed on sofa.
My little Papillon thinks he’s that big and he too will ward off any USPS, FedEx or the gardener. I asked my gardener if he barks like that when we’re not home? He says, “No, I never hear him.” So, it seems, it’s my fault. I’m his prized toy/bone, whatever and no one better touch me!!

Does he know he’s not allowed on the sofa? Oh, of course he does – that’s why he’s there. And of course he will sleep with you. You are privileged to be given such an honour. And WHY, I ask, does he not have his own doll ?! My Tess has 5 beds in different parts of the house, a dozen or more toys, several blankets, AND she sleeps with me when I’m home alone to protect me. She’s the size of a flea, with the belief she is at least horse size. And not at all spoilt 🙂

Of course, of course. He has no choice given that he’s spoiled rotten. Lucky dog. Hahaha.
It’s a dog’s life. I’d like to try some of that. 😀

He is a smidge spoiled. He sleeps with me when I sleep over. Not my choice.

Good boy! You’d think that mail carrier would have learned by now, after being chased off the property every single day. Our carrier hasn’t learned, either, despite Cody’s best efforts. (PS: Cody has her very own bed pillows, with covers, so she doesn’t have to rest her head on the scratchy couch cover, or (heaven forbid) on her own doggy bed.)

I hope they have high thread count.

Ha! Her pillows and covers are the same ones I use on my own bed. Only the best for Puppy Cody.

Croc doesn’t have the least bit of guilt on his face for being on that couch.

He’d much rather be on the bed, but they keep the doors shut.

Well, someone has to make the tough sacrifices to drive away the fiendish forces of parcel delivery. Totally adorable ❤

So far, he’s managed it, but they keep coming back. We had a dog once who thought the pizza man came and got our pizza.
